Happy adoption day to me! So fitting with Father’s day yesterday. Thank you for having the two best parents in the world!

And the best daughter in the world!!!! Happy Adoption Day!!!! 24 years ago this beautiful, tiny baby girl was put in my arms…only 21 inches long, maybe only 10 pounds, and our lives changed forever in the most wonderful ways! We are so glad you are our daughter!!!! You are a blessing!!! Wish we could celebrate in person! Jump up and down, and dance together…
I still remember this day in 1992 rather vividly…going to find you on a rainy day, showing the address written in Chinese to the taxi driver, driving through streets so narrow people were walking along side the car, going to the wrong place first, but finally arriving. There was no one to translate, but the women in this concrete building, and bare concrete room knew why we were there. We waited and waited. Finally, they came with this little bundle…you were put first in my arms, a most magical moment. Then I asked Daddy if he wanted to hold you, and of course he did…so he stood up. He had been sitting, around all these short women. They were so surprised when he stood up, craning their necks to look up at him, he was so tall! You were in a little hand sewn outfit, with little hand made shoes. They made sure to show us this, to show how you had been cared for…and then, miraculously, you were ours, and I don’t want to ever let go!
